~Remembering Grandma~

~This month has been 5 years since my Grandma, Alyce Lorraine Price, passed away. I woke up this morning feeling so very heavy in my heart thinking of all that has been happening as of recently in my life & yet I cannot share this joy w/ her. These are things in my life I know she would be so proud of.
Grandma had such a way of seeing the potential you held w/in & knowing how to draw it out. She called me Andi & though I am not very fond of that nickname, when it came from her it was so endearing.
I know she is in such a better place but just for today I would love to be selfish & have her w/ me, to have that special little nudge that only she could give to say you can do anything! Grandma was loved by many & she loved them back w/ her whole heart.
I loved for her to tell stories! A very special memory is every year she was the one who would read the Story of Jesus' Birth at Christmas & was followed by Grandpa sharing words of Wisdom.
Grandma made the best Fried Chicken & Fried Okra...she was just an awesome cook! You couldn't sit at her table unless you at least tried a bite of everything on the table. Tim learned that real quick when he refused to try a stuffed bell pepper & she literally followed him from the kitchen, down the hall & into his room w/ a piece of stuff bell pepper on a fork until he gave in & took a bite!:) That's all she would ask for, just a bite & it was that "bite" that would usually get you hooked!:)
There are so many special memories I could share. We all have days like this of remembering loved ones, but it gives you a feeling of comfort when just sharing these memories when your hurting. I love you dearly Grandma~

Update

Wow, it has been forever since I have blogged! Thank you all so much for the sweet & encouraging comments that were left on the news of us finally getting into our home. It has been an amazing process.
I have only a few pictures of the house to post since there is alot to be done & we have been so busy w/ the remodel on the church. There are some before and after pictures of the upstairs guest bathroom & one side of the kitchen/family room. It's hard to describe but the house inside needs a new paint job in EVERY room:) The house itself is in great condition, only problem is the paint. Our living room & dining room is painted a color I call "mud". Not only are the walls but the ceilings, we have a high cathedral ceilings in these rooms & they are painted w/ the "mud". It kind of feels like a cave...LoL.
So far I have painted half of the kitchen/family room, that use to be a "mustard" color, & again it was the ceiling & walls. So, I have a new white ceiling & 2 walls painted & have 3 more to go before that is completed.

Actually, I have completed only one room & that is the upstairs guest bathroom...LoL:) We have yet to really move in our furniture since everything needs to be painted, but this Wednesday & Thursday the whole downstairs will be completed & we can really start the process of moving in the furniture. So there is an update on the house situation.

As for the church, I will soon have pictures posted of the remodel that is going on. The last pictures I posted you could see all the sound boards & the ugly walls, but now we have textured walls & paint on them. This last Thursday we had an estimate done for the carpet & that will only take 7 days for the ordering & the laying of the carpet so it will finally look more completed. The chairs we have ordered will be arriving in 2 more weeks & we will be ready to have church in our new sanctuary! God has continued to pour out His Spirit on our services in such a beautiful way. One of the boys in Sunday School received the Holy Ghost last Sunday & we have had a steady stream of visitors. We give God all the Glory...Vacaville is in Revival!:)
